Looking through all History, women were almost always submissive to men´s power, in patriarchal societies. Of course, there were some exceptions of women who conquered power, such as Queen Elizabeth I of England and Queen Victoria of England too. Also, during the Medieval Age, women who had knowledge were seen as ´´witches´´ , and were persecuted by the Catholic Church massively.
However, until 1791, women hasn´t stand up together to fight for their rights. So, in 1791, during the French Revolution, in the same year that the first French Constitution was made, women made the Declaration of the Rights of Woman (in full here: http://csivc.csi.cuny.edu/americanstudies/files/lavender/decwom2.html ). Unfortunately, because of this, women were persecuted again, but by the Jacobin´s government, in France.
Although, in 1949, fortunately, the phrase of Simone Beauvoir ´´One is not born, but rather becomes a woman´´, encouraged women to stand up together again, in a more organized way, to fight for their rights, so the Feminist Movement was created, and it still remains until nowadays.
Now, we realize that we´re not here to compete to each other, but to help each other to win each other intern battles, and to conquer equal rights between men and woman, what´s a simple thing, but is seen by some men the most impossible thing ever, but ´´Their time is up´´(Oprah). So, ´´Okay, okay ladies, now let´s get in(formation)´´( Beyoncé), and continue to empower each other to reach our collective and personal goals. Also is very important that we talk more with men that everyone have to be feminist! In this way, our society will have more harmony and will be healthier!
