¿How you started your business?
My business journey actually began as a travel blog. Yup, it's completely different from what is now a tech & design subscription. My love for travel started a Wordpress blog, and the more I worked on the website, the more I fell in love with web design & development. After many years up switching niches and such, I finally settled into helping membership & recurring profit creators to scale their business and leave the tech to my team.
¿What do you do to get inspired?
I like to look at other successful people. I look at what strategy they used, what they're doing currently, how they're delivering their message, and much more to keep on forming ideas on how I will run mine. I used to go for Pinterest boards on my designs, but I fell in love with creating wireframes myself and designing it from a blank canvas.
As an entrepreneur, ¿how do you organize your time?
I like to create a list of tasks to do that day, extremely detailed. For example, today, I have to finish up my business plan on how to scale it from a service-based to a passive, create a landing page for my launch coming near, record one episode of my podcast, and make sure the checkout page I coded actually works. I just listed them all down and I cross it out every time I'm done. No specific strategy, but it just happens to work for me!
What is an advice you would give to girl that want to start a business.
I'd say to just start. Girl, I've tried out so many random business ideas before one was successful. Story time? I had a soap shop. Yes, soap. Actually, I think I still have some ingredients in my closet right now. I think they last pretty long but I guess I'll have to check on that sometime. Look, NO ONE CARES. Whether your business idea failed or succeeded, no one will care. Business is all about starting, then improving - not launching it at a perfect state. So don't you worry about others looking down on your with a failed business. Just start one, and tweak it as you go.
¿What do you think was the thing that made you start your business?
I think I always had a mindset of starting a business when I was young. I used to be the first generation Instagram influencer back in the day - 70k followers baby! But when I lost the account, I realized I had to work on an actual business that doesn't rely on others to give me money based on my following. That's when I decided to become a freelancer, doing whatever I could to get a buck in my hand. Kid you not, I was about 16 and I almost made full-time income just by freelancing.
Recommend a book
Honestly, all of GaryVee's books are awesome, but I have to go with Tony Robbins & Mel Robbins. No, I don't think their related but Unshakeable by Tony Robbins and The 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins has got to be my two favorite books.
¿What is the vision you have for your business?
Oooh, I like this one. To be honest, I hate business visions because they sound so fluffy and fake. So, I'll tell you my authentic, honest, and no fluff version of my business vision. First, I want to have 30 women working with me in my Powered by Hae subscription. It's not the money I'm for, but the fact that I'll be helping 30 women to create successful membership websites/recurring profit models that will impact another group of people. Man, that's life changing. Next, I want to create another membership that's more focused on education & community. Because I'm all about creating recurring profit, I'm hoping to build an entire community of people who are tired of client calls, expensive projects, ongoing droughts in their service-based businesses.
But all jokes aside, my ultimate vision is to make my business 90% passive and work on the mission field with my parents. That way, it can support both our family and the mission work we will be doing.
¿What means success to you?
Like above, if I can sustain my family and the mission work we do, I think that's successful for me.
¿What is/are your favorite thing(s) about your business?
I have so many favorite things. First, I love the fonts I use. Haha, I'm so sorry - design geek here. I don't think I've ever seen this font combination and it's so unique to my personality, it just represents me perfectly. Another favorite of mine is my business name. Because it's By Hae, which stands for different things such as "Made by Hae", "Powered by Hae", "Memberships by Hae", and so much more, there are endless possibilities of what I can do with my business.
¿Who inspires you?
People who are honest and interactive. Yes, people who are successful in business are inspiring. However, if I don't get to see the real side of them, hear their honest thoughts, and interact with their audience, I loose interest quickly. When I see people who are authentic, true to the audience, and successful, that's when my eyes pop up and get inspired.
A message to girls.
I've spoken in two different conferences and the fact that it was't just women scared me. What if what I do looks like child play to them? What if they think I'm not worthy of teaching them? But you know what? They don't bleed once a month like us. Just like that, we don't operate the same way they do. If we think about it in a wider spectrum, no one in this universe operates the same way as another, so get your boss hat up and dominate your business.
Your favorite quote
I have favorite quote for business is "work smarter, not harder". I personally don't have a life motto because I think every good phrase is a motto in my life. It's always fun to grow my life of life mottos!
